Abstract or Summary of the Invention

 

The present invention relates to an oxidative hair coloring and bleaching composition comprising an oxidizing agent, a source of carbonate ions, an alkalising agent, and preformed dyes, utilised at pH 9.5 and below which improved color delivery, intensity and vibrancy, which are compatible with current dyes and dye precursor systems. Moreover, the compositions of the present invention also exhibit low odor and deliver a high level of lift and lightening equal to the currently utilized ammonia/peroxide systems, whilst reducing the concentration of peroxide and reducing the hair fiber damage.

Preparation:

 

For example, in a one-pot` process,  the polymers (items 41 to 47) and chelants ( 1 to 8, 21) would be pre-dissolved in water. Add the surfactants ( 9 to 15) and disperse well. The fatty materials (items 16 to 18 and 39 and 40)are  added and then the whole composition heated to about 70-80o C. A controlled cooling and optional shearing process to form the final structured product in the case of an emulsion would then follow.  Addition of the materials providing a source of peroxymonocarbonate ions (1 to 8) dyes items 22 to 37 and ammonia, and optionally solvents, and pH adjusting complete the making process of the dye cream.
