Abstract:Conventional dispensers for a cosmetic fluid, such as a liquid, comprises a bottle having a housing for a low regulator, such as a roller or preferably a ball and a cap which is securable to the bottle by a single set of co-operating screw threads. An improved dispenser secures the cap to the bottle, and especially to the housing, by a plurality of sets of mounting elements, one of which comprises a cam providing axial movement of the cap when it is rotated around the bottle and the other a follower, such a lug and bayonet. One element is mounted on the interior of the cap and the other on the exterior of the bottle/housing.

The mounting elements on the bottle/housing advantageously are separated both laterally around the periphery and axially so as to permit the mounting elements on the cap to pass axially between adjacent bottle elements and the cap to be rotated until matched sets of elements are brought into contact. The bottle can comprise separate mouldings for the housing and the reservoir which are in fluid tight fitting, the mouldings preferably having anti-rotational means such as an axial-extending lug on one moulding that can be slid into an axial slot channel or socket on the other moulding.

The alkyl groups can optionally be substituted, for example, with electron donating groups, electron with drawing groups, groups which increase the hydrophilicity or hydrophobocity, and the like. In another embodiment, the derivatives are prepared by replacing the aldehyde group in the essential oil with a nitrile, methyl ether or acetal group. The acetal groups can provide the compounds with a long lasting flavor or fragrance, where the acetals slowly hydrolyze to provide the aldehyde group in the parent essential oil. In some embodiments, both the aldehyde and at least one of the double bond functional groups are both derivatized as described herein. Examples of suitable articles of manufacture include candles, air fresheners, perfumes, disinfectant compositions, hypochlorite (bleach) compositions, beverages such as beer and soda, denture cleanser tablets and flavored orally-delivered products such as lozenges, candies, and the like.

Abstract:The dispenser is comprised of a first sleeve that is substantially open at the top and the bottom. The lower part of the second sleeve can be contacted by a person's finger to adjust the second sleeve within the first sleeve and to temporarily lock the second sleeve in the first sleeve. On the inner surface of the first sleeve and the outer surface of the second sleeve there are cooperating structures to maintain the second sleeve at a given position in the first sleeve upon the gripping of the first sleeve.

The cooperating structure can be a cooperating serration structure on each sleeve, a serration structure on one sleeve and a locking projection on the other sleeve or any other interfering structure on each sleeve. In one embodiment there can be one or more apertures in the first sleeve to enhance to flexing of the first sleeve into contact with the second sleeve and the temporary locking of the second sleeve in the first sleeve. The product can be a cosmetic product which will include deodorants and antiperspirants. In use the second sleeve is adjusted within the first sleeve by pushing up on the bottom of the second sleeve. The sides of the first sleeve are gripped in an application grip which holds the second sleeve within the first sleeve during application of the product. Upon the relaxing of the grip the second sleeve can recede into the first sleeve and a closure put into place.

The power source can be a DC supply. The system provides long term sweat control. The system may be wetted with tap water, distilled water and a saline gel solution mixed with the aluminum particles as the electrically conductive medium between the power source and the skin. A deodorant or fragrance is added to the long term sweat control system and exhibits characteristics lasting much longer than topical application.

Abstract:Coated particles of metal (such as calcium) silicate that exhibit excellent odor neutralization and sebum absorption properties when present within certain cosmetic and/or personal care formulations and suspensions are provided. Uncoated calcium silicate exhibits a high pH level that may have a deleterious effect upon such cosmetic and/or personal care compositions, thereby rendering the overall composition ineffective for its intended purpose, particularly if the calcium silicate is present in its usual state at high loading levels. Alternatively, if certain materials present within personal care compositions exhibit a sufficiently low pH level, the effectiveness of such calcium silicates may be compromised as well.

Such novel coated/treated calcium silicates thus permit high loadings of this beneficial odor neutralizing/sebum absorbing additive within cosmetic and/or personal care formulations without causing any appreciable instability issues or viscosity modification concerns or allow for coexistence with such low pH materials without any appreciable reduction in performance capabilities of the calcium silicates themselves. Certain personal care compositions comprising these novel coated calcium silicate particulates are encompassed within this invention as well.
