Title: Cyclosporine analogue mixtures and their use as immunomodulating agents

Applicant/Assignee: ISOTECHNIKA INC

Application No.: 11/118830   Filing Date: 28/Apr/2005

Abstract:

The invention is directed to isomeric mixtures of cyclosporine analogues that are structurally similar to cyclosporine A. The mixtures possess enhanced efficacy and reduced toxicity over the individual isomers and over naturally occurring and other presently known cyclosporines and cyclosporine derivatives. Embodiments of the present invention are directed toward cis and trans-isomers of cyclosporin A analogs referred to as ISATX247, and derivatives thereof. Mixtures of ISATX247 isomers exhibit a combination of enhanced potency and reduced toxicity over the naturally occurring and presently known cyclosporins. ISATX247 isomers and alkylated, arylated, and deuterated derivatives are synthesized by stereoselective pathways where the particular conditions of a reaction determine the degree of stereoselectivity.

The ratio of isomers in a mixture may range from about 10 to 90 percent by weight of the (E)-isomer to about 90 to 10 percent by weight of the (Z)-isomer, based on the total weight of the mixture.

Application No.: 10/842094   Filing Date: 10/May/2004

Abstract:

Many cosmetic stick compositions containing a continuous phase of a water-immiscible cosmetic oil structured by a fibre-forming amido structurant and an active cosmetic ingredient either exhibit poor physical stability when formed, or cannot be made readily using conventional processes for making stick compositions. The problem can be ameliorated or overcome by the use of a combination of amido structurants comprising in class (i) an N-acylaminoacid amide in which the N-acyl substituent has the formula -CO-Rin which Rrepresents a branched C6 to C11 alkyl group in combination with a further amido structurant, (class (ii), including a polyamido-substituted cyclohexane, an amido derivative of di or tricarboxylic acids or an hydroxystearamide and particularly employing an N-acylaminoacid amide in which the N-acyl substituent contains a linear alkyl group, or a cyclodipeptide.

Abstract:

Anhydrous cosmetic stick compositions containing a continuous phase of a water-immiscible cosmetic oil structured by a fibre-forming amido structurant and containing a suspended particulate antiperspirant or deodorant can suffer from either somewhat poor physical stability when formed, or preparative difficulties using conventional processes for making stick compositions or opaqueness. The problem can be ameliorated or overcome by the use of a combination of amido structurants comprising (i) an N-acylaminoacid amide in which the N-acyl substituent has the formula -CO-Rin which Rrepresents a branched C6 to C11 alkyl group in combination with a further amido structurant (ii), selected from (iia) N-acylaminoacid amides other than (i), (iib) cyclodipeptides and (iic) a 1,2-di amido-substituted cyclohexane.

Application No.: 10/842137   Filing Date: 10/May/2004

Abstract:

Anhydrous cosmetic antiperspirant stick compositions containing a continuous phase of a water-immiscible cosmetic oil structured by a fibre-forming amido structurant can exhibit undesirable sensory properties when 12-hydroxy-stearic acid is employed as primary gellant and the preparation of sick compositions suffers from sever processing difficulties when certain of such amido structurants are employed as primary gellant.

Stick compositions having desirable sensory properties can be made by employing as primary gellant, a combination of amido structurants comprising (i) an N-acylaminoacid amide in which the N-acyl substituent has the formula -CO-Rin which Rrepresents a branched C6 to C11 alkyl group and (ii) an N-acylaminoacid amide in which the N-acyl substituent contains a linear alkyl group and the cosmetic carrier oil comprising from 25 to 50% by weight of a water-immiscible monohydric alcohol that is liquid at 20 DEG C. and a boiling point of higher than 100 DEG C.

A method is disclosed for application of compositions onto non-woven webs, such as paper webs. The present invention is also directed to products made from the process. In general, the method includes applying a composition to a non-woven web using a non-impact printer, such as an ink jet printer. The composition is applied, in one embodiment, as droplets that remain as discrete shapes on the substrate. In this manner, treated areas and untreated areas are formed on the web. Through this process, the water absorption and control properties of the web can be adjusted as desired while simultaneously treating the web with a composition that improves the physical and/or chemical properties of the web.

Abstract:

Method and device, including a uniquely operative applicator, and pharmaceutical compositions, for the controlled, non-surgical removal and retrieval of cells from a variety of skin lesions and tissue surfaces are disclosed. A synergistic effect of proteolytic digestion of the intracellular matrix and "stripping" flow is achieved by treating a defined area with a controlled, continuous stream of proteolytic enzyme solution, causing gentle but effective tissue erosion. Isolated cells from the skin lesion and/or tissue surface may be collected from the protease solution stream for histological analysis and/or cell culture, affording a method of "enzymatic biopsy".

The protease solution may be supplemented with anesthetics, coagulants, anticoagulants and antibiotics to decrease the discomfort, erythema, bleeding, risk of infection and scarring traditionally associated with surgical treatment of skin lesions. Delivery of precise levels of catalytic activity is ensured by controlled activation of stable, inactivated enzyme stock solutions and powders shortly prior to application.

Title: Fragrance delivery system for surface cleaners and conditioners

Applicant/Assignee: FIRMENICH SA

Application No.: 11/408179   Filing Date: 21/Apr/2006

Abstract:

We claim a fragrance delivery system consisting of a mixture of various polymers oligomers and stabilizers capable of forming a surfactant complex gel dispersion when combined with a cleansing surfactant base and yielding high levels of fragrance deposition onto the skin, hair or other surface such as a textile, from a cleansing or softening consumer product comprising a micelle forming surfactant. The internal phase or dispersible phase of this surfactant complex gel dispersion (GLPPD) is made of a mixture of various immiscible polymers, oligomers and stabilizers forming a complex gel with the surfactant platform and whose ratio and composition are selected to dissolve preferentially a wide range of fragrance raw materials.

The selection criteria are, first, that the fragrance should present a higher fragrance partitioning ratio into the surfactant complex gel phase than into the free micelles of the surfactant, second, that the surfactant complex gel should not be further solubilized by the free micelles, and third, that the polymer mixture selected should complex with the surfactant system. The external or dispersing phase of the GLPPD is made of a single cationic polymer or a mixture of cationic polymers that have been hydrated and associated with the surfactant to form a complex gel structure that cannot be further solubilized by the free micelles.
